A joint supplement might do the trick as well. And I would think once you and your vet have figured out the best program for your horse barrel racing shouldnt be a problem there are many many high level show horses who contnue their show lives with out problems.

RE: Injury

my goodness is he all right? when will you be able to ride him again?

RE: Injury

i wouldnt barrel race a horse with arthritus, unless it was only a few shows a year and not anything too stressful.

RE: Injury

yes we have talked to a vet. jake((the horse)) is around 16 or 17 very muscular and strong for his age. has had some hoof problems but all clear now. he is my first horse and i couldnt ask for a better one

RE: Injury

thats never fun, sorry about all the injuries. i assume your already talking and working with a vet, so your best bet is to ask them, as they already know your horse and the extent of the injuries.
for more help on here, youll need to post the age, fitness level, ect. of your horse.

Injury

My horse is recovering from a busted blood vessel in his leg, lymes disease and possibly authritis. sounds bad huh? well he is almost healed thank the lord:) we barrel race and i need some advice to know how to get him back in shape for the show season. thank you to whom ever leaves a message
