I agree that crossbreds and mustangs are just as good as any pure breed. Tell Karen O'Connor that crossbreeds are worthless.

I resent that.

I do agree, backyard breeding is not good. I also don't think breeding mustang in captivity is good either.

But, you cannot say mustangs or mixed breeds are ugly. Some are, others are better looking than pure breds. Most are just as good as pure breds.. and some pure breds are the most fugly things... Breeding does effect how a foal comes out.. although even breeding two great horses together, you have NO idea whats comming out.

I realize you have your own opinions, but I feel like you are saying these horses are worthless, and they are not.

Personally I love my connemara ponies!! They are my jack of all trades and they are beautifull, smart, athletic, and strudy plus they are amazing jumpers!!

Really I like rare breeds like fell and dales ponies, and akhal-tekes. Plus, I absolutely love Thoroughbreds! Also, Icelandic horses are nice with their pony features and awesome gaits!

Yep, and she'll be four in December we have the same birthday. Having a horse like this is a real experience especially her she's a tough alpha mare, but she's super sweet. A grulla roan, I love her like crazy and I'm so proud of the progress we've both made.

hey , my favorite horse is my 24 yr.old 1\2 mustang and 1\2 morgan he is perfect ,, easy to train , loves kids, no bad habits. and on and on .. i also own 2 tenn, walkers and 1 qh. i guess really its all about how you treat your horse, mine are all full of love and would go the distance on what i ask of them.. always willing to please.... donna

My favorite is the Spanish Mustang (Spanish Colonial Horse if you want) besides their history, stamina and beauty, they are fanstastic horses. They bond with their owner, they're real smart don't need grain in most cases and can handle rough terain barefoot. They're very different from other breeds and they haven't been "modernized" or lost any characteristics for hundreds of years. I could ramble on and on and on about these horses. I love my little Wakiya! She's the best horse I've ever met.

Mustangs; Kiger, Spanish, and just plain Mustang. They are great horses. Spanish mustangs have an amazing history. They were the 'Indian Ponies' you hear about. Very versatile, gentle, strong, but fast. Out did all the Calvary horses. The result of the other mustangs, is that the Calvary wanted the versatility of the Spanish mustang, but the high speed of the TB, so they breeded the two together, for a long time. That's why there aren't many purebred Spanish Mustangs found around any more.

Percherons and Morgans are very good horses too.

i like all horses but the breed i love is the tenn walking horse ... a walker can do anything any other breed can do but no other breed can do what the walker can

my opionion i love paints and pintos they are so beautiful and gracious at thier very best i dont have one but i want one i have a cool palamino and a quarter horse

I love TB's. They are smart, athletic, and generally have good temperments. Like Zee, I haven't seen that many crazy TB's, even though it's also the bias attached to the breed (like Arabs). But what I love most is that almost all are "one-person" horses. This makes them usually bad school horses but GREAT horses for one person to own/ride because they get VERY attached, VERY quickly.

I love arabians. While they have a reputation of being crazy, most really aren't. I have worked with kooks of several breeds, and the arabian wasn't the craziest. I ride at an arab and half-arab farm and I have really learned to appreciate their versatility. While the credit for versatility often goes to QHs or color breeds that have a variety of confos within the registry, I have met many individual arabians that have shown successfully at regional and national levels in hunter, saddleseat, and WP, sometimes all in the same show.

I also love a good WB, and friesians enchant me. I actually can appreciate a good specimen of any breed in its forte. I love arabs because a single arab can have lots of fortes.

I have a thing for Quarter Horses and Paints. I do western and rodeo events so those breeds get the job done and almost always have cow sense.

I have a bit of a preference to TB's because I've leased and ridden one for the past 7 years. But I also have a thing for Shire/TB crosses. I've just started working with one and he is one of the sweetest guys.

I'd have to say Arabians and Appaloosas. I've ridden all different breeds and I would have to say by far they are my favorite. They are so sweet and dependable and very versatile.

buuuut, if I had to choose a 'breed' it would be a Hano or a Friesian Sport Horse.

I could just be biased because I own a Quarter Horse, but they're easily my favorite because of the versatility. I've found that they really can do anything.

Hmmmm, I don't really know too much about all the horse breeds, but a few I like are: morgans, paso fino's, icelandic horses, standardbreds and many more lol.

MORGANS!!!! And we also have 2 Quarter/Paint mares that are truely gentle giants!!! It's hard to leave the pastuer when they walk in front of you to keep you there to pet them!!

Rocky Mountain Horses. This breed is a wonderful breed. They are very gentle and friendly horses.

They have a wonderfull four beat gait which is very very smooth. No need to post on these horses. You can go quite fast on these horses while they are gaiting.

Another thing that impresses me about their breed is how gentle they are. We own a three year old stallion who we used for breeding this year. We can take him on trail rides with the horses he bred with and doesn't cause any problems. He will sometimes talk to them but that is it. We went for a trail ride on Saturday with one mare we bred him with. He did wonderfull, even when the mare stopped in front of us, because of some other horses on the trail caused a traffic jam. When she stopped he and I didn't stop in time and walked into her rear end. He stopped and turned to move out of the way and the mare stood there calmly while we moved away. We can easily go into his stall and he loves attention.

The Rocky Mountain Horses are very beautiful. I love the ones that are chocolate with a white mane and tail. I also love the black ones. If you would like to see some pictures you can visit our web page at agapestables.com
