| Here is the Rolex injury. If you ask me, she was WAY out of line. You could see that the horse was exhausted, so I am sure she felt it. Why did she keep going? I know it sucks to have public critizism but when you are in the public eye, that is what you have to deal with. And, you have to take care of your horses accordingly. I was shocked the horse made it over the next fence. He was switching leads and cross-firing just to keep going before he even reached that fence. WOW. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QqUPoQj5hV8

That's outrageous. Any rider with a half a brain could see that the horse was extremely exhausted and couldn't go much further. I can't believe someone would put a ribbon before the well-being of their horse...

| I wouldn't- and will not- make any judgements until I see the actual video, but I work for close associates of Amy and all I can say is you weren't there, you weren't on that horse. I am not condoning nor criticizing it... I am simply reminding everyone to keep in perspective the fact they were not involved in the situation. I just hope Sparky is comfortable...

3Ways.in.3Days (5/2/2007) I wouldn't- and will not- make any judgements until I see the actual video, but I work for close associates of Amy and all I can say is you weren't there, you weren't on that horse. I am not condoning nor criticizing it... I am simply reminding everyone to keep in perspective the fact they were not involved in the situation.I just hope Sparky is comfortable... Yes, I understand that. The reason I am so upset about the situation is that I have a friend who WAS there. She said everyone was screaming at her to pull up and she didn't/wouldn't until it was too late. I understand that it is not right to judge someone based upon this situation, and I haven't judged her personally. But I can state my personal opinion of what happened. And that is, as stated in the earlier post, that she should have pulled up. That's all. In regards to the horse, although they believe this injury is career ending [Per Amy's statement http://www.rk3de.org/news_view.php?id=36], it sounds as though he IS comfortable. Which I agree with you, that should be top priority. I did not post this to rip the individual appart; not my intentions at all. But, I did post this for AWARENESS. And, I think it is wonderful that they immediately reviewed the situation. Shows that the well-being of the horses IS a central concern in the sport of eventing. Thank you to the HC editor! The article you posted gave me a sigh of relief.

| Ok, this is Amy Tryon we're talking about, an amazing olympic rider whose been around horses longer than most of us have been alive. I think she knows her horse and the situation better than any of us sitting on our butts accusing her of putting ribbons ahead of her horse...it's easy to say that, but you were not in her situation and so cannot judge her for her actions. I was there and saw it happen, and I saw or heard absolutely no one "screaming at her" to pull up. I don't think she realized anything was seriously wrong until after the last fence...after which she immediately pulled up and all the ambulances, etc, rushed over. It's not like she had 500 yards to go and was galloping him on three legs Sorry, I just think some of you (not all) were kind of harsh and poorly informed as to the situation, and seeing it happen, I just wanted to add my 2 cents... no offense meant to anyone.

| This topic is being hotly debated on many, many boards all over the net and in other countries, from people who viewed the video and people who were at the the site and people who were at the last jump. I saw the video and have my opinion, but will defer to the FEI who is investigating and will have direct access information. I'm anxious to hear their conclusion. JumperC (5/2/2007) Ok, this is Amy Tryon we're talking about, an amazing olympic rider whose been around horses longer than most of us have been alive. She's also human and humans can make a mistake. This may be one such time for Amy.It's truly a sad incident for both horse & rider.
