I agree with pretty much what everyone else has said.

I agree with pretty much what everyone else has said.

Another thing I would like to add is this: Being a subscriber to HI since about 2000 I would like to mention that I have seen the QH be the "spotlight breed" one too many times. As well as the thoroughbred, the appendix QH, etc. Every day horses (but don't get me wrong, I love all horses!). I was absolutely delighted when the spotlight horse was the Abaco Barb (sp?)!!! It was great to learn about an almost extenct breed and how one woman was trying to keep them alive! I'm sure many HI readers wanted to do something to help! I think you should do more breeds that people don't know about. I know that at the barn where I board every single horse out there is a QH except for 1 paint and my horse. And that's out of 34!!! I really think you should do an article on Chincoteague poines come one August or September! You should get someone to go down to the pony swim and do an article on it! I've always wanted to go down there, and reading about it would be the next best thing!

Also: I really like the idea of MORE Q&A!

I think more Q+A would be good too.

I'd also like to see some more in depth articles.  I uderstand that there's probably a space limit for them, but some of them are so basic and simplified that I don't really find them interesting to read.

I also think it would be cool to spotlight some lesser known horse sports, like horseball and mounted archery, just as some thing a little different from all of the hunter/jumper/dressage stuff.

Also I think that something where peopel can submit pictures of their horses for a ridinf/conformation critique would be interesting.  I know some other magazines like Dressage Today have that, and it's one of the first things I read.

here's a few other ideas:

1. Q & A's area

2. Groun training articles

3. I would really LOVe it if you put a "Harness training, what you need and how to do it" article in some up-coming issue, too.

4. "How an average teenage girl can break a horse to ride by herself" article

5. A fan art page, and put only pretty good art up there, no 5 yeard old stuff please. I like pretty paintings and pics.

6. A also agree we should have an article every issue with an average person, not some famous person because quite frankly, most people can't even begin to afford a horse, let alone a $50,000 dollar one. So interview some average people and teens.

Hope you use our ideas! From, Uma.

HI needs to add more articles for the "backyard horseman" as most of the articles are for showing, more in depth articles as most just skim the surface of what there is to be told. Articles that are geared more towards intermediate to advanced riders so there is less beginner stuff in the magazine. Also make the magazine more adult oriented as it seems the information lately is geared more towards the younger crowd. At least that is what would bring me back as a subscriber

Here's what I'd like to see in the future:

1. More articles on groundwork

2. More articles on dressage and other English groundwork

3. More riding basics

4. Some 'rare' breeds featured

5. More Q & A's

6. Fan art(drawing, painting, ect.)
