horsebackdiamond (5/28/2008) I want to see more contests, and more of those tips you guys had when it was your 30 yr issue. I loved those like 30 Blue Ribbon Tips. Those were amazing. I also want to see more like checklists for shows, spring cleaning, grooming. That helps me a bunch too. OOOOOOOOO!!!! I want those too! I miss the 30 tips area as well!!!!!
This is an old pic of Fire and me. and we BOTH SUPPORT the AMERICAN TEA PARTIES!!!!

I'd like to see more articles on driving, maybe an article on a major CDE like what's usually written about major races, reining competitions, etc. Also stuff on training your own horse like I do(can't afford it), with a little more detail than what you usually get in magazines.

May the (small) horse be with you! I'm a Creationist partly because Creationists don't usually ridicule or fire people who don't agree with them. Check out how evolutionists act.... Duct tape is like the Force-it has a light side, a dark side, and binds the universe together. "Once you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth." Good horse training advice from Sherlock Holmes.

I would like to see...
~ Some ideas of things to work on with young horses.
~ Teaching your horse/pony to pull a cart (Maybe laid out in a series of issues?).
~ Some tricks and tips when trailering a young horse for the first time.
~ Stuff to work on with Miniature Horses/Donkeys
~ Reviews on different products done by HC Forum Members. (For instance: everyone who has used that product does review on it in a a topic and the best reviews get put into the magazine.)
That's all I can think of for now.

I think there should be more on specific topics. Like one on Massage Therapy, 1 on driving, ect... Also I think that maybe there should be other trainers once in a while besides the Perellis. (However you spell it)
Cats have owners, horses have STAFF!!

I posted this in the horse breeds section, but looking through other forums, I think that this would be the better place to put it: I think it would be really cool to have a "horses in history" section of the magazine. It could have information about famous horses (Seabiscuit, Hidalgo, "Mr. Ed"), famous horse paintings or art (the tri-colored horses of the oriental states--Korea?), ect... Maybe even horse traditions like how different horses are/were trained (lippizaners, agricultural vs. show, war horses, movie-star horses) and the different types of saddles they wore in history and how they evoloved--like how a knight's saddle became our english and western saddles. Furthermore, a general history of riding would be interesting; like side-saddle lessons, how show/eventing came to be, how Native Americans accepted horses and how they were trained. And then horse folklore would also be really fun --ghost stories from the civil war; what role horses played in the lives of the celts, romans, egyptians, and others, and what famous stories and legends go with. Now that would be fun to learn about! |

| I would love to see something more about showing for first timer's. Maybe some kind of checklist's or something listing what equipment, apparel, training, and preparation that are needed based on certain events.

| I have been a subscriber to HI for several years and am usually very satisfied with the variety it has to offer. I have been working with horses for 30 years, and am also an equine L.V.T.. I try to blend my training styles, and keep an open mind - but if you don't stop force feeding Parelli down this reader's throat- I am cancelling my subscription. Please- there are other trainers and styles.
