As we plan for new content, we want to make sure you’re getting everything you expect from Horse Illustrated. To do so, we need your help. What type of English training coverage would you like to see in the coming year?

I would like to see more Hunter Jumper training work. Show ring prep, grooming, etc. Stuff that applies more to Hunter Jumpers. Articles on framing up, what judges want in the world of hunters, new braiding fashions, etc. etc. etc.

Basic dressage exercises!

The beauty of that would be the fact that almost all lower level Dressage exercises can be applied to almost any discipline. Dressage simply means "training", after all!

It might only take one page, and there could be a new exercise to work on every month.

The exercise could be described, and then there could be pictures or diagrams on how to apply the aids for both English and Western.

Since this is a multi discipline magazine, that would be great for everyone!

I would like to see more simple do at home exersixes. I can never do anything from magazines because I dont a have a ring, so I think it would be great to have an article on making  safe, fun, jumps from "junk" (chairs, logs, sticks, etc.) and some fun simple jumping patterns.

Everything as above but not devoyed to what the breed circuts are doing. Perhaps showing the differances ie the gimp along hus classes of the qh circut vs the foward moving  ones on usef circut. Then show/ tell how to acheive what both circuts wish.

Ask some of the top judges/ trainers what they look for.

get rid of parelli that is why I do not buy your mag. Though in all fairness I havent looked at it for a while since I saw him with his own section. I want real training methods not snake oil sales..

Perhaps talk to tack manfactures compaire the differances of for example a AP vs CC, what they are both good for.

How to get the 'expensive look' with out breaking the bank when it comes to tack.  IE can you get teh same look, 'quality' from a lower brand name/ no brand name saddle that you can get from a Bates.. that type of thinng OR do you really need that edgewood bridle when this one from Smiths will be just as good. Showing is expensive enough for entry fees add to that shelling out 200-300$ for a bridle.. my bank account would faint...

A consumers report type section where someone  tries out hte product/ tack for X days and writes a review.

That is all I can think of right now.

If ponies were human.. most would be in prison.

I agree with Maddy & Peppy. it'd be great to include some exercises for those people that don't have acces to rings and jumps.  I'd also like to see what horseless said about maybe comments from judges about what they're looking for.  That'd be very helpful.  I'd also love to see some fun course set ups.  Maybe some from Equitation finals and stuff liek that, so we can practice it at home.  It'd be great show prep for some of us.

Cheap tack reccomendations for hunters would be great too.  Not all of us can afford tack that's that expensive.

What halsgal and maddieandpeppy said sound like really good ideas and things that would really be helpful to a lot of people, including myself. I also agree for some more dressage stuff as well, even though I don't do dressage, because there are people on here that do dressage and there really isn't a lot of advice for it. It's mostly hunter/jumper. So I think the dressage people would appreciate that.

I think there should be a section for people to send in there jumping photos to be judged and the two with the best possition get put in and talked about and the worst 2 get put in and talked about
I always like to learn from other peoples mistakes or study the "perfect" jumping possition.
