I am a girl who doesn't own a horse but reads these magazines. I suppose that they will help me if I ever do own a horse but right now with an exception for the english riding class/ articles and the breed article this magazine doesn't help me.

I get three different magazines, HI, Horse & Rider, and Equus.  Generally, I will find one or two useful articles in each.  That said, I do think that reading anything and everything will help you learn something that may be useful in the future.

Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass,

It's about learning to dance in the rain.

Sam's Mom's right.

HI will give you general info, Equus and Horse Journal are good for horse care and health, and then you find magazines specific to your discipline.

For English, Practical Horseman is good- for Dressage, Dressage Today, and for Western- Horse and Rider.

There are also lots of good books on horse training and care as well. Check out horsebooksetc.com for ideas!

I don't have a horse yet, but we are looking at one named Feona right now. She is in my siggy.  I find the magazine very helpful.  I also get Equus, Young Rider, and Horse & Rider.

I don't have a horse, but I love Hose Illustrated, it makes me even more determined to have my own horse someday.

I used to read HI and Equus and Horseman magazines when I was a kid before I got my first horse. I got them from all of my neighbors who had horses. Would cut out the pictures I liked and paste them in scrap books.

I still get Horse Illustrated. It is one of my favorite magazines. I also like Perfect horse, especially since they are changing back tot he old format.
