Please minimize your font. I know the astigmatizm(sp) people are probably happy but some of us well arent.....it hurts.

I would say  try doing different things like circling him when he starts doing this, asking for canter, doing, figure eights, or things to get him foucused on his job.

Have you had your pony's teeth checked. Sounds like it could be a mouth issue. Have you tried switching bridles?
Like I said, it sound like some type of mouth issue to me......either physical with the pony's mouth/teeth, or that the bit/bridle is not comfortable for the pony.

There is absolutely no reason to get angry with this pony.
While I don't think you are an abuser, I do think you are young and have not learned patience......which is very necessary in dealing with horses.
There is no reason to get upset or angry when the problem can be solved in a calm manner. Does neither the horse or the rider any good.

i sort of agree with the make him think you're going to kill him method, but only for situations were the horse hurts you or acts as if they will. its a good way to assert your dominance but sometimes unnecessary. first, before you get angry call the vet. some horses have something wrong inside their head that causes them to shake their head alot. not sure if its inner ear or what but this could be a health related issue.

i wouldnt trot him places. it does make horses think that its a race against u. my mare likes 2 trot in front of every1 and she shakes her head even when walkin, but the vet said thats a sign of nervousness. she is a very high-energy, spooky horse, so i always circle her. some1 hit her once, and now she wont cum near that person. i also hold the lead rope tight in front of her chest, and she slows down and doesnt toss her head. she learns to not pull against the lead rope when i do that, but keeps her neck arched so its comfier. anyway, hope he stops!

Honey, first of all no horse or pony is evil. Second pull  slighty on the reins when he shakes his head like a half- halt
