I can sympathize with you. There were these people at my barn who had an odd obsession with my first horse. It started out that they asked if their daughter could brush him because she had fallen and couldn't ride, but was missing horses terribly. So to be nice, we said, "When we are there, you can brush him, but only when somebody's around." It was just getting to the point where it was getting weird, and we asked her to stop. She was saying how she couldn't stand seeing me with him and all this other stuff.

Then one day I get a text message from her sister saying that she rode my horse. :O Needless to say I was mad. Long, long story short we talked to the barn owners and managers and straightened things out. They broke a law by doing that, and are not aloud to even go near my horse. They ended up leaving the farm.

So, it sounds like what these people were doing with your horse was illegal as well. I would talk to the barn owners, then, if the problem persists take legal action.

I went over yesterday with a friend to help get my winter blanket that I left there and they have a shed that they lock now and one of there kids took it, so i asked the owners ex husband who is there now for some reason and he was yelling at me cause he thought i was blaming his kid....

Try getting a locker for your tack with a padlock on it or take it home with you. You should move your horse right away. That is ridiculus!!! Horses are dangerous animals and they can easily get hurt or hurt someone if the handler is handling them incorrectly. Your barn needs to change. I would say put a padlock on your horse's stall but then if an emergency (such as a fire) occured, they would not be able to get her out. The woman who blamed that all on you obviously doesn't care and doesn't repsect you or your horse. Do not spend your money there, they don't deserve it. Get your horse out as soon as possible and until then, make it CLEAR to the owner that if anyone so much as touches your horse again, you will sue. I would also recommend a camera such as a nanny camera in the stall. I feel very badly for you and I hope it works out.

That sounds sooo anoying!!! Well, i would be mas too. You should lock ur stuff in ur locker and if they know the combo or have the key then you should buy a new lock. Also express to them you dont like it. If you live in washington you should come ride and bord where i do. In Auburn. Pond-a-luce-a stables. You should google us. the best place ever!!!! OH MY GOODNESS!! Almost the same exact thing happened to me. Before my horse passed away a week ago, he was boarded in a public barn. I was getting my saddle out of my mom's car and walked into the barn. My horse wasn't in his stall! I asked one of the staff members and they said some kid I didn't know was riding him! They didn't even ask my permission! I got so angry I wanted to scream.

If I saw someone riding my horse I'd walk up to them and ask their name, then say, "Get off my horse (insert name here), and I'm pressing charges for horse theft!"

It's good that you changed barns, what was happening at your old one was just inacceptable. Good luck at your new one!
