Sorry if I offend anyone but have you ever heard the phrase, "If you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything at all?" You've really offended a lot of Parelli lovers. It's like if I said dressage wasstupid and mean to the horsesthen a lot of people would get offended. If it's my opinion and it might hurt someone else I tend to be quiet! And if it weren't for all the so called 'commercial trainers' then no one would've thought to communicate to the horse through his language and you wouldn't have anyone to bash!

I beg your pardon?

I must have heard you wrong.

Parelli invented NOTHING, Monty Roberts invented NOTHING. These concepts go back to Xenophon, thousands of years old. These commercial 'trainers' simply stuck it in a package, labeled it and made microwave dinner versions of horsemanship.

What scares me is that so many parelli-ites don't understand what they're doing, or the origins of it. If you don't understand the principles for it, how the hell can you be effective?

Horsetraining is not like putting together ikea furniture. You need to understand why, not just what.

As for us being mean, it was asked. They asked "Are you anti-parelli and Clinton Anderson?" to which we replied. Would you rather we lie? Or better yet, not respond?

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. It's just a matter of whether you can substantiate it. We have many valid reasons for disliking this NH 'trainers', with which we can back up and substantiate our arguments.

Like my English teacher says, "That's your opinion. Who cares? If you can tell me WHY you think that, then you might have something".

We're not just saying "we have Parelli", we're talking about SPECIFIC problems with the program and why he makes me want to poke my eyes out with a fork.

Society does not need more children; but it does need more loved children. Quite literally, we cannot afford unloved children - but we pay heavily for them every day. There should not be the slightest communal concern when a woman elects to destroy the life of her thousandth-of-an-ounce embryo. But all society should rise up in alarm when it hears that a baby that is not wanted is about to be born. ~Garrett Hardin

I stand corrected Misfit Style.

But what I mean is not that they invented it, but they've made it more accessable. I don't even do full time Parelli! I have a 'normal' trainer and I do John and Josh Lyons but I like some of the Parelli stuff.

The only problem I have with the program is the glitz. The seven games are just basic manuvers such as yeilding to pressure (porcupine game), leading and backing up (yo-yo game) and lunging (the circling game...)...

"People may tell me that they are great riders, fantastic horsemen, or knowledgeable horsepeople. I never believe them until I speak to their horses."

BINGO!!!!

You've stumbled onto it (although I do sense some back pedaling after coming on rather strong).

Yep......the games are nothing more than what has been done for thousands of years.....but I'll bet Xenophon didn't have a "carrot stick" in his stables!!!!

It didn't take 1 day to create.....it won't take 1 day to fix.
