this is my first horse, i dont own him anymore, but hes still registered and all that. so if anyone has a fjord!

I saw Ribot and Bold Ruler in Musing's pedigree, Merrill has both of those horses in his pedigree.
Any Sea Hero colts out there? it's kind of hard to find Merrill's siblings because Sea Hero (Merrill's sire) was sold to Turkey right after Merrill was born.
But anyway, here's a few of Merrill's siblings:

Hero's Pleasure-http://www.osbornefarm.com/heros_pleasure

Hero's Tribute-http://www.bloodhorse.com/stallion-register/sr_sire_page.asp?refno=4451732&origin=link

Any related horses???

He's related to my mare:

They both have Danzig fairly close up.

Here is my gelding's, I'm sure they are related way back somewhere lol:

I wish I could find out La Kota's stuff but his tattoo is incredibly hard to read @.@ Here's a pic lol If you wanna help me decipher it, that'd be lovely, if not, just ignore this. Granted the picture is hard to read, but trying to get him leave his lip up while I took the picture was a tedious task for both him and I lol

https://www.registry.jockeyclub.com/registry.cfm?page=tattooBreakdown

I would make out the tattoo as best you can and fill out that form. The JC will attempt to locate his registration information for free for you.

Anyone else with a TB with a lip tattoo can do it as well.

Perkins Echo is related to Merrill too, they both have Bold Ruler, but it's farther back.

Now about the tattoo, there's one thing I think we're missing.
I don't think it starts out as a "1", it's an "I".
Every JC tattooed horse haas a letter before it's number, as a code for the birth date. For example, Merrill was born in 1999. His letter is C. A horse born in 2000 wound have his letter as D. Now, if my math is right, having the letter "I" would put him at 2004, and La Kota would be five years old. If he is five, then I'm pretty sure it's an "I".

I think an "I" would make him a 2005 foal, so he'd be four. Echo's is a "B" and he's 11 (1998 foal). Although, I think there should be 1 letter and 5 numbers, but I'm not 100% sure on that...I'd have to go grab Echo's papers.

If you fill out the form you *should* get a match, if not they also have programs for partial number research you could look into.

Well I've tried that site and his numbers don't match up lol so I don't think I'm reading his numbers right.

Well from what his previous owners told me he was 5. The only information I can ever get on him is from his tattoo which is hard to read as you can see lol I'll hopefully get a better picture soon.

Haha you're right my math was wrong.
La Kota, I know it can be hard to get pictures with the horse's lip up, but maybe if you take more pics from different angles, we can help more.
Also, you can ask a vet. Vets are scary good at reading those things.

I will definetly (sp) try lol and the vet is coming soon to do his teeth so I'll ask then while it will be much easier to flip his lip up lol
