hmmmm...yes and no. yes, because they'll put up with your mistakes. no because (well this is just the impression i get fom mine) because once they learn something its very hard to train them out of it. like his old owner used to always let him lean on the forehand when cantering & didnt balance him. im trying to teach him to balance and engage his hind quarters...and he's learning, very very slowly... but their pretty solid. we went out for a hack a couple weeks ago and while my friends horse's would spook at sighns, cars etc, he'd just be kinda like oh hum lol. though he tends to spook at stuff that all the other horses dont spook at (he spooked once out on the hack when we were in a gully and a car went past. non of the horses spooked, just him, but i think its just cuz it was kind of claustorphobic at that spot). but thier WONDERFUL sport horses. hehe karuso would jump the moon :) but every horse is different, regardless of breif. sorry about the little rant there lol

| Oh. So what do you use him for, jumping? Dressage? I'm trying to get enough info as possible because I'm expecting a horse in a few years. I'm thinking of a TB. So where did you get him? Internet? shelter?

| well, right now we're doing a lot of dressage/lateral work as im trying to get him to listen to my aids better & get him to be more supple (he hadnt been worked at all in the past few months before i got him @ the end of june) so its more or less a refresher. eventually, i want to do hunter/jumper with him & show him scince he's got gorgeuse movement, though he's not very fit at the moment (working on it!). so after i move him closer 2 home so i can work him 5-6 days a week and get a good, solid conditioning program in, im gonna start doing gymnastics with him & then move up from there. but i have to add that riding a warmblood can be a big difference that riding a TB or an appoloosa or QH. in the words of my coach "its like going from driving your everyday humble car to suddenly driving a highly responsive, expensive sports car." lets see...im actually leasing him right now. (his owner is out west somewhere but she couldnt take care of him anymore so four years ago she gave him away to a friend, who cant look after him scince she has over fifty horses on her warmblood/sport horse breeding/training farm + shs busy with showing her stallions...) so i posted an ad saying i was looking for a horse and she replied saying she had the perfect guy for me & that whenever i wanted to, i could just take him off her hands cuz she was downsizing her farm anyway. so yeah, its kind of like gettin a free horse....but im pretty sure he came from alberta or something but i dunno... as for TB's, i used to ride a TB mare & she was AWSOME before she got injured last spring. though she wasnt the typical crazy/flighty thing that TB's seem to often be asscociated with. i'd had a bad fall and she was the perfect horse for me to get my confidence back up. smoothe gaits/transitions, attentive to the aides, wasnt spooky...but then u must remeber that the horse's personality is more important than breeding. another one of the best horses ive ever rode was a backyard clydesdale cross mutt who was probobly the best lesson horse ever lol, he was so calm and honest to god bombproof and had that puppy dog personality that was just to die for and he always did what u asked him to, regardless.. take into careful consideration this quote: "No matter how perfect the confirmation, how fine the breeding, it is entirely wasted if the horse hasnt plenty of heart; that combination of courage, fire & pride is the motor & without it, nothing works" - C.W. Anderson hoped that helped & good luck with your search :)
