Ive never seen it that green, do you know what cut it is? It goes for like $15 a bale near me, so we just get cubes and soak them. PLus i dont think my mare needs all that extra protein.

The paint mare is the one I "rescued" the little guy is about 7 months. He acts like my mare is his mommy. Its adorable, but sometimes quite annoying.
hoping the picture works...

I personally don't have a retired racehorse but the barn I ride at takes in some retired racehorses, some of the racehorses goes to people at the barn who is looking to own a horse, and they retrain them under the watchful eye of my trainer. Some of the retired racehorses are now lesson horses and are great to ride and a blast. They are pretty sane, the two I rode were 7 and 8, and I love them so much. They rock.

My first and only horse is an OTTB. He is a great horse, and can do anything from Western to Hunters. I only plan on buying OTTB's from now on.

My old man is an OTTB he was retired really early (before 4 maybe 3 and a half cause i first met him when he was like 3 and then some) due to bowed tendons, yes, plural. But when i saw him and hopped on, that gangly, uncoordinated, clomping guy needed me just as much as i needed him, and even though he is always hurt in some form of another, always attracts accidents, is difficult and unpredictable, expensive and a pain in the butt, i love him more than words can describe and i mean it quite literally when i say that he has saved my life more times than i can imagine....and i only hope he loves me back

these r really sweet posts! actually now, my ottb peanut, has a negative palmer that we just now discovered! so the vet is givin her quartizone shots every 2 weeks. he says if they dont work, she mite hav only a year 2 liv! shes very expensive now, but i'll keep her til she's gone! well she just got her shots a few days ago and she's not limpin at all, so the vet said i can ride but only light walkin and trottin. she hates it! as an ex-racehorse, she still has tons of energy! its hard restrainin her! o well.

that's tough but it took me a long time to realize this fact: my horse may never be a grand prix show jumper, he may never be a first class three day eventer, but he is the best thing in my life and all i need
