i totally know how you feel. I love my horse. but i havn't ridden him yet. The barn owner is going to help me and he had to go to florida for a couple days so now i can hopefully hop on soon. But he's just gonna be my baby. He has a bad ankle (i think) its been puffy and warm. But its only stiff when he moves. He doesn't limp. But i love him SOOOO much!

And im sorry to hear about your horse. =/

All of my horses are rescued. I have 8 right now, a mare who was severely emaciated and was pregnant and we got her with a Percheron gelding who was going to the slaughter house for a reason that wasn't true. I also have a Rescue 100 Arab gelding (100 starving Arabians in Andrew Alberta that were rescued in March 2008). A Quarter Horse gelding who didn't have his hooves done for 2 years and never had his teeth floated so his teeth were digging holes into the teeth that were above them and he had ulcers all along his cheeks. Wasn't a pretty site. And also last year my parents and I rescued 25 horses from going to the slaughter house. All of which are now healthy and good lookin'!

My horse is a OTTB.  She is also a retired eventing horse and broodmare!  She has done quite a bit in her life.  Now she is my western pleasure horse!

My first horse was rescued - LONG story about her, my other two horses were neglected. I love the feeling of giving them another chance :)
