| It really depends on 2 things - where you live and what you consider the basics as an individual. I would suggest to shop around to get a half of an idea for your area - don't forget, you get what you pay for.

| oh wow I see some people's boarding prizes are very cheap, i wish our boarding stables were not as expensive, but like they say, you get for wat you pay. at my stables it costs 600$ normal boarding, this does not include lessons, but it includes all horse care needed. Bedding, a specially designed diet for each horse depending on its weight and needs. 24 hour staff care. free use of the facilities, horses can have hydroteraphy on water treadmills, exercise on special mechanical round pen etc. Farrier --- 85 $ Vet shots- 120$ Aditional trainnning (or half trainning) meaning that the instructor gets to work my mare to keep her up with good habbits, since she is a young horse. (500) then add lessons to that... i forgot how much i pay for lessons this month i had to pay 2000 $ on my horse's upkeep

jen_23 (10/19/2009) All places are of course different. My mom pays for the horse expenses. But pay for some of it. I board at a barn where its self-care. Its cheaper and I have to go down everyday anyways to take care of my moms chickens. Anyways.. here's the list of all the expenses she pays.Board-$85 per month, $55 front shoes, $60 teeth floating, $6-10 on deworming paste, $17 supplements(Quiextex), showing cost roughtly $25 for a show for gas.
It pretty much depends on what type of riding you do, where you board at and what you want, full board, self-care barn? or ect... Hope that helped HOLLY CRAP WHERED YOU FIND SELF BOARD THAT CHEAP? its like $200 here.. well. Boarding around here (ontario) differs. Id say ; Boarding- $250-$1000 per month Farrier; $25 every 6 weeks, (w/o shoes) Vet fees; $150+ Tack; x number ammount of $$ Shows; usually $25+ Wormer; Idek, probalbly around $25 ever 6 weeks Grain and supplements; X ammount of $$ insurance; Im not sure.. and youll want some extra cash for emergency purposes.

Jubilee --- you sound a lot like me, I had to look at your avatar to see if it was me or not!!! I work off most of my board (feeding, bringing in/turning out horses, exercising horses, odd jobs). I think the regular price would be like 350, but I pay 200.
So monthly --
Board - $200.
Every 6-8 weeks - dewormer - I pay $3-$5
Every 6 weeks - farrier - $35 (all 4 trim, used to pay $20!)
And that's the basics for me!
