after you fell off did you get back on? its very important that you do, if you dont it can really damage your confidence. the only way to get over it is to just make yourself keep riding. take it slow, and eventually you should get over it.  and you have to realize that if you ride horses you are going to fall off. everyone who rides will at some point.

First, I would find a nice, trust-worthy horse for you to ride, along with a trainer, adult or a friend to be there with you. When you get back on, don't push yourself. If all you do is walk around for 5-10 minutes, then that's okay. You just need to slowly build your confidence back up =)

And like the above poster said, everyone falls off, and you will fall off more than once. If this was your first time falling off this may be why your confidence is so shaken. I've fallen of dozens of times in multiple situations, so it doesn't really bother me anymore ;p

I agree with the above posts, take it slow at first, make sure you have a trust worthy horse. If it makes you feel better have someone with you. I understand how you feel. Three weeks ago I was riding a retired racehorse and she spooked and everything was all fine but my hand got caught in the rein. My hand was pulling on her mouth and she got really mad and started rearing and so on, but it was all my fault as most falls are. I got back on her and had a great lesson. When my next lesson came I had an option of riding her or another horse, and I was not that nervous but knew if I didn't get on her that week that I would be extremely nervous the next time I rode Anna, we ended up having a great lesson and she is such a blast tor ride. I'm so glad I made the decision to ride her again. So basically im sating try to ride again, don't let fear stop you :)

Sorry about your accident. I have never really been hurt bad by being thrown.  My sister was however and she spent 7 days in the hospital.

The thing that helped her the most was getting an older horse that was (You could call slow or lazy) trust worthy . She has worked herself up slowly.  I have seen her really struggle with this and it has broke my hurt. She is doing better but still isn't 100% but i believe she will get there.

Good Luck!

Let's ride

You gotta get back on.I agree with the above posters. You need to find a older horse that you trust completely. If your afraid of falling off, get lessons to help you improve your riding so you have less chance of falling off. My horse bucked me off a week ago so now everytime I get on, I'm like here we go, another round of bucking broncs.lol
