Hi everyone! I'm pretty new here so I'd just like to get my slate clean. Yes I do Parelli but I understand and acknowledge that plenty of people and horses dislike Parelli for plenty of good solid reasons, no one is banned or excused from this forum but I would like EVERYONE- including the Parelli people- to be considerate. This post is not intended to start a fight and if it does I will be contacting a MOD.

Please don't use this forum as a resource just chat about Parelli, your experiences, and your goals... I'm hoping to get my On Line level 4 soon! How about you?

Thanks,

Savvy4Horses

^^^Where did she say that she hasn't ridden her horse yet? Just wondering, I didn't see it.
I use mainly John Lyons, but I do use a few Parelli things, such as turn on the forehand & haunches, sidepass, and spin. Those, though not necessary, are fun. :)

Sorry... Didn't mean to offend you...

Did I say I hadn't gotten on my horse? I didn't say that. I said one of my goals was to get my Online Level 4.

That kind of hurt my feelings Horseless. So I took a look at your other posts and I realized that you do that quite often. You should think before you speak. And another thing is I don't judge a trainer on if they can saddle up a bronc in twenty minutes. If they take the time it takes they will undeniably do a much superior job!

i think a lot of people could be a bit nicer on the forums. no one needs to go around and sugar coat things, but it seems lately tensions are being raised in almost every topic due to nothing but a mis reading or something stupid like that.

Exactly! I like the way to worded it Gracie53. I don't expect ANYONE to come in and say, "Parelli's the only way to train a horse! Parelli is awesome!" 'Cause even I won't believe them. But if you had of politely said, "It's nice that you do Parelli. I like other methods and I trained my horse really quickly." I wouldn't have been at all offended! I don't only use Parelli. Just primarily!

What do you mean turns on the forehand and haunches are not necessary? They establish control of the haunches and shoulders, which is beneficial in any event.

WIth the exception of the spinning which iirc is a reining thing but other than that I havent a clue what they are used for or when it came into being. The rest are basic dressage movements. Turn on the forehand, huanches, side pass/ leg yeild are basic training  things. And they were around a long time before parelli. I had to learn how to properly do these things before I was allowed to even take a x rail. And they are absoultly a necessary  thing to have  in your training  if they are properly executed  that is. Parelli did not come up with these things and I hope he  didnt say he did ashe has for other  things.
