critique me and allie-oop. The sand in these pics was HORRIBLY deep. So she was way bouncy. Plus she isn't a western horse. She's an english one who i trained for western in march for 4h and equestrian team.

Im kinda new to western riding but i would work on thehead set try to get his nose on the verticle and his head even with his withers. All in all a really cute pair, also work on using more seat so yo wont have to use your hands as much and that should also help quiet his head. I love your shirt by the wey and he looks very well turned out and nice tack maybe think about banding his maine to make an even neater look.

yeah her mane is banded....but it was windy and she was bouncy because of the ft deep sand so it was flapping up a little which is why it looks crazy.

And yeah her head is high...thats just how she gets at shows. she is REALLY good at home. she's not trained western so when she gets rein she doesn't like to listen.

She's mainly english

Your position is pretty god, just remember to keep your ear-shoulder-hip-heel all in a vertical line.
Allie is a cute horse, but she looks almost "inverted" in some of the pics (opposite of rounding her back). You say she's an English horse, right? Maybe she isn't used to the Western saddle or bit? I would work her more at home in those, and get her used to them.
I think also, when you're riding English, you might want to work on collection a bit more. In my view, a horse should pretty much be in self-carriage before advancing to a curb bit.
I completely understand about off days though, and the last pics of you and her at home look MUCH better. Good luck!

Yeah she is way not collected and rounded. I know this and its what we constantly work on. I have to constantly remind her but once i go back to just riding she goes right back with her head up. ESPECIALLY at shows. Even engilsh i have to constantly nag her about rounding up, but she has gotten much better. Once she gets the loose rein she doesn't know what to do though. Its what we're going to work on all winter if i can still ride her =D

thanks guys.

really why use her western? i bet she's be gorgeous in the english show ring. she doesn't look that happy in western anyways. u r kinda leanin forward 2 much and hands r a lil low. i no if sand is that depp, it makes it harder. anyway, she's a beautiful horse!

I rode western to fill my classes up. We actually placed sometimes too. Which really surprised me. I think i got a couple 4ths of 20 and some other placings. We are working in a eggbutt now and it seems to be getting better. But i might not be able to ride much anymore cause im not leasing.
