I will agree, arabians are beautiful horses.  My mother just bought an Arabian/Paint horse cross last week, but you can't even tell that she has any stock horse blood in her. She is only a yearling, but I'm sure that she will mature into a very refined and gorgeous animal.

Personally, though, I prefer Quarter Horses

Arabians.....a breathtaking and thrilling breed. My favorite breed. Arabians are full of endurance, speed, and energy, but also a willingness to please the ones they trust. They are truly a work of art. No wonder the Sheiks in Arabia prize them dearly!!!!

BTW: I own a half Arabian, and have been riding Arabians for 4 years. I am hoping to get an Arabian soon.

I personally don't like them.  I've had a very bad experience with them and think they are not as stable as they should be.  Ride a quarter horse

Don't understand that at all.  And there are some very "unstable" QH, too, especially some of the hot cow bred QH.  But that's OK if that's your preference.  I wouldn't give up my Arabs for any horse, including QH.  But I wouldn't say no to a well bred cowhorse of any breed.

Arabians can certainly be more hot-blooded, if that's what you mean by "unstable". I would agree that hot-blooded horses are better left to more experienced riders, but that doesn't make them "unstable". That being said, I did ride a neurotic Arab a few times who loved spooking at inanimate objects, but I've also ridden appys and TBs like that, you can find slightly crazy ones in every breed.

The few Arabs I've ridden have on the whole been intelligent, hard workers, and fun to work with. I don't think they're the most beautiful horses, to me their little heads just look unproportional, but to each his own. I compete English so I rarely ride many Arabs, but I've been working with a super sweet Arab mare at my barn who was pretty screwed up by her last owner, and I love throwing a western saddle on her and having fun.
