Hunters Prize: aka: Hunter
Age: 9
Birthday: Feb 9, 2000
Height: 16.2hh (ish)
Color: Grey or Roan (he has a couple brown spots so i guess he qualifies with that. Its on his jockey club papers)
Retired: this summer

I rode my horse for the first time on monday! We were ready for a couple freak outs but he was AMAZING! We just walked around a little bit and then i got off but he was PERFECT!

We werent even the only ones in the ring. There were 3 girls riding 2 walking horses and 1 girl attempting to lunge a horse who wasn't having it (which is why i got off. Didn't want to tempt my horse with the sound of the whip. Though it wasn't bothering him then.)

Got back on yesterday (Thursday) and rode for 30 minutes. (again just walking because there were lessons going on in the arena and i didn't want to interfere) but he was AMAZING! He is curious but thats the extent of the ride. He would look over and i'd have to try to get him to focus. But he's doing amazing!

I have a lesson tonight (first one for me in 2 months first one for him EVER!) And we will see if we can trot!

thanks. He's so fun to ride, even at the walk, lol. I love him to death. He's so different from the last horse i rode (an 18 yr old QH Mare). He's the 4th TB I've ever ridden.

Will post how my lesson goes later

Awesome! My dad races standardbreds and he's thinking about getting me a cheap one to retrain. I'd take all the OTTS's (Off The Track Standardbreds!) and all the OTTB's and just love them all to death if I could! These horses can make GREAT mounts if they're retrained properly. Do you have any pictures of him? The ones below are my racehorse Dropdead Beautiful (a.k.a. Pudding!)

Loverboy is a different horse that his owner is injured so me and another boy ride him for exercise and my racehorse is Dropdead Beautiful and the OTTB that we're thinking of buying is WhosLaughingNow.

You have a lovely horse! His eyes are set pretty far apart so he may be uninterested in his surroundings but he has 'the look of eagles' so he might spook unexpecitably when her comes out of his little world! His lips are heart shaped so he's probably very people oriented and his nostrils are fine and fluted which should indicate an intelligent personality. Overall he's a horse I would love to work with- enjoy him!

My lesson last night was AMAZING! We walk/trot/cantered and he didn't do ANYTHING stupid! He even picked up the right canter for a little bit. He worked SO hard. My trainer had him covered in sweat! He's so outta shape lol. He was so good. He didn't spook once! Everybody was watching and he would just go right past the people in the isles. He was GREAT!
